QR code scanner
Use your camera or choose an image with a QR code. Video and images are processed on your device only.
Content
Check that a link looks trustworthy before opening it; QR codes are used in phishing.
How to use
- Press "Scan with camera" and point it at the code; the browser asks for camera permission the first time.
- Or choose a photo or screenshot containing the code.
- Copy the content, or check and open the link.
Questions
Is the camera video sent anywhere?
No. It is only used in your browser to find the code, and never stored or sent.
How is it read?
With the browser's built-in BarcodeDetector where available, otherwise with the jsQR library.
Do links open automatically?
No. The content is shown first; an "Open link" button appears only for web addresses.
The camera does not start.
Allow camera access for this site in your browser settings. Images work without it.
